If you go into the group you're a member of, on the right side of the page it will show 'Quit Group'.
Once you click on that, you'll see a pop up asking if you're sure. If you click yes, you're removed from the group.

You can't, unless you're a Premium Member. ;)
That's a big bummer! 
But you can be an Admin of a group.
