[removed the proof because after calming down I realised that the guy needs serious help and the language is way too negative to post here]

[public accusations not allowed; report instead https://support.chess.com/article/209-how-do-i-report-someone -- VP]

Couldn't play the game because of the harassment and I'm still shaking.

Imagine if it was a kid instead of me...

I don't know, at least a chat filter would be nice. I'd hide the chat but I play mostly for socialising and usually people are nice..

please explain how this is public shaming

edit:

Point is his words should be censored/and or replaced with silly things like:

  • "kill ..." > "i want to give you a hug"
  • "useless.." > "cheer up!"

or just with positive emojis like hearts

Turn off chat at the first sign of inappropriate users. Then report them

Posting about the member in threads and getting Others to report is not allowed,You can simply report them through the report option in their profile,If it is too sensual then you can email chess.com and report that particular member,Include your screenshots there.

exactly where did I ask anyone to report him? I'm only displeased that negative text is not replaced automatically.

Posting the screenshot with that vulgar language was a mistake I corrected myself after I calmed down, overall I wanted to draw attention to the fact that we need a chat filter of some sort.

Another idea would be as soon as the opponent starts speaking vulgar, for the chat to show "opponent name would like to chat" like it does after you exit.

It it's a screen shot, it's fact.  The person who was so abusive should feel ashamed.  I don't see how your comment is relevant at all.  People who are nasty don't deserve the protection of redaction.

It's not okay to tell people things like that! People can react differently so there reactions can vary! No need to be rude : (

Screenshots can be faked. That said, the first post has what needs to be done in such a situation; block and report.
