HELP can't resign

My laptop broke on Friday last week and since then have only had access to chess.com through my mobile phone. This issue i've got is i'm in a hopelessly lost game but my mobile phone access won't allow me to resign. It allows me to offer a draw but the guy won't accept a draw (neither would I if shoe was on the other foot). Staff please help. I'm unable to post the link because my phone may be fantastic but it doesn't copy and paste but take a look through my current active games it's the game against bluskey

What happens if you work towards achieving checkmate as quickly as possible?

Looking on the bright side: prior to the mobile phone interface to chess.com, you would have been completely scuppered.

That is a very interesting problem Donna... I wonder if others have experienced similiar problems. Waiting to see how the staff does respond.

just play any move, but don't time out!

I recently started to access via my cell as well. There is an android app that works great. Haven't had reason to resign any games yet, but using the small screen for analysing my gmaes I might have to do that sometime soon....:-)

I can resign on my old Samsung. Good thing too, it's often necessary :(

You could also tell him in chat you want to time out, since you have no resign button. Thank him for the game, and let the game time out...

Increasing your Timeout Ratio would adversely affect your ability to play in some tournaments, of course.

Two possible workarounds:

1) start a forum thread about the problem and hope your opponent notices

2) agree a convention in advance that certain moves have a particular secondary meaning, over and above as simple chess moves. e.g. Ka1 could mean "I'm playing from a mobile phone & can't access the resign button."

but your king would need to be close to a1...

Good point. A better convention than Ka1 might be: move the king in a circle.
