Getting a FIDE ID without playing a tournament

Do you have any idea how much wins he need to have and how much tours he need to play in order to make 2200+? And all that in 1-1.5 months? Basicaly winning every single tour vs big strong players.

He is not replying to my question sent around 3-4 days ago asking about which tours and fide id... People just lie all the time. I am afraid that is the case here. I hope not..

It's simpler than that. Oceania zonal granted CM titles to every player who scored 50%. So a 1800+ performance was basically good enough to get a title there.

You can check IM Ilingworth's blog for some examples (sorry can't insert link from the phone).

I know that and I did check

It is blank on CM/FM title in Continental. But several colums below there is section that i missed Sub-Continental which indeed they give free FM and CM title if score 50% just like that....

I've never actually looked at the exact FIDE rating forumulas. I know how USCF works and an unrated player playing in a strong event could get a pretty high rating fairly easily (if they were good enough).

From the regulations, the only requirement I see is a rating >=2200  for a CM. From the initial rating calculator on the FIDE site, scoring 50% in a tourney of 10 games, with an average opponent's rating of 2200 is enough to get a 2200 rating. If the average opponent rating was 2300 and the player scored 4 of 9 games, that would give a 2257.

I can't say the OP is claiming something that is untrue. Just that a normal tournament result can provide the needed rating.

There is not a minumum number of games required?

Martin_Stahl

It doesn't appear to be for CM. IM and GM, along with WIM and WGM, have a number of game requirements to get norms, unless they qualify by performance at an event that gives the title outright.

But now that I look at the OP profile more (based on the blog name and blog entries), I see that he might be Anthony Chan. He played in the 2015 Oceania Zonal Open Championship, scoring 4 1/2 points and if what hicetnunc posted is correct, that gives 50% and could qualify for the CM title.

With his last 2 topics: How to change username and how to disable account and with blitz and bullet rating of 1808 just recently achieved 31July... it just smell fishy that this player will score 50% in such strong tours.  Just need to show his fide id and that will be proof... but silence.

I imagine the FIDE player card also has to have the title reflected (which it doesn't currently). Chess.com isn't going to try and determine if a certain player qualified in an event and will wait until FIDE publishes the title.

And while the tourney did have higher rated players in it, all the opponents for the one I looked at (the only unrated player with 4 1/2 points) fell between 1800 and 1930, giving an initial rating of 1881 FIDE.

So he is this player?

https://ratings.fide.com/individual_calculations.phtml?idnumber=311214550&rating_period=2015-08-01

Rating is already updated in his profile, but no title...

Martin_Stahl

I don't believe they update immediately. From looking at the rulebook direct titles have to be applied for. So the player's federation has to send an application in to get approved by the Qualification Commission.

That step may not have been done yet or may be in the works.

20 players in that tour with score 4.5 out of 9. All of them will receive title too?

Martin_Stahl

If they didn't already have one, based on the earlier post (and the tourney website), yes.

And anyone with 6/9 gets the FM title, if they didn't already have it or a better one.

I am moving to Sydney! Screw all that years of hard work and EU events. Much tougher and less title prizes. True is in those zonals!

"just randomly call people out as a liar straight out of the blue, either you don't have any patience to wait a few days for reply and just displaying typical internet behaviour"

Random people? Just you with good reason, kid. Out of blue? Whole thing smells from miles and other noticed too. You were online but did not reply. Again suspicious. See again what i type , it was in most polite way, something it seems you dont understand.

You 2 should kiss and make up.

I'll get the video camera. Laughing

You can easily do this in 6 easy steps.

1) Grab a US 1 dollar bill

2) Flip it over to the side with the pyramid and eye

3) Chant illuminati illuminati slow at first, and speed up

4) Wait until the eye glows a bright color

5) Ask for a FIDE Rating backwards, so say EDIF fast, than slow

6) Wait for results
