Atlas, perhaps when you logged in chess com you ticked the "keep me logged in " button. That is why you cannot leave :P.

I think after a certain period of time you're logged out.
I'm not sure though. I'm not an administrator. Try rebooting your computer and logging out, if it doesn't already log you out because you rebooted.

Atlas, you should be able to logout. We have no intentions of trapping you here. I would recommend that you try using the "Control R" keys to do a hard refresh and then click "Logout" at the top right of the page.
Also, you might try going to "Tools" then "Clear (all) Private Data" in Firefox as this should allow you to logout of Chess.com.
I can't logout of my account! I'm on firefox and when I press logout, It just says"You are already signed up and logged in"
