how can i get trophies?

Usually, someone with a kind heart, will just give you one for maybe having a good game or for you giving THEM a great answer or help with their game.

I'm sure that's true, I haven't won a tourney yet,   .   You'll see the little icon on their page saying "give a trophy"  or "send a trophy", under send message, send email, etc, at the bottom under their name, then you can spice it up and add a note. 

If you win at tournament, the Chess.com will give you a trophy right after the tournament. :)

Giving and receiving trophies is very nice to start a friendship in chess.

I didn't know trophies can be "retracted" too...one of mine (not sure which one) recently just disappeared into thin air. I had 21 trophies for about a month and suddently  today I have 20. I guess someone had second thoughts, but I still don't know how they managed to pull it down after the fact.

It is possible the account that gave you the trophy was muted or closed by the site.
