I just clicked play and was able to play the computer (for the first time, I had not tried it before) at standard chess.
How do I play the computer?
Mine is set for Chess 960. I see no way to change it,
When you hit the + to start a new game, you change the Type to Standard
What I would like to be able to do is, if I didn't finish the game, be able to recover it after I sign-off. It seems that if you download, what you create is the last image of the game. When I sign again, I can start a new one but not the last one. Am I doing something wrong? abuelopoppa

If you import your previous game into an Analysis board, you can then use the icon that looks like this
to finish the position against the computer.
I received by email a workaround that is (recover a game against the computer): if you record the moves, you can put them back one by one in a new game by switching player positions. I never tried an analysis before; I will try the procedure later. Thank you, Martin, for your time.
Is there any way to set up an opening against the computer, e.g., the Ruy Lopez?
Similar way to post 7. You can either input the position or line into an Analysis board and then play that position against the computer or you can find the position you like via the Explorer or Openings section of the site, click the analysis board option there, then play vs computer icon.
Thank you very much. So far I have been just visiting the Daily Puzzle and playing against the computer. I love to learn technology and to explore all those things will help me learn-regardless the results. Thank you for your time! Abuelopoppa.
Under "Play," I found the computer, but it only was set for Chess 960. I wanted to play the computer for awhile because I'm learning the Ruy Lopez (I was playing a lot of Scotch Gambit) and would like to try it out before I play live chess. I've seen other people post about playing the computer. Is the only way to play it Chess 960?
