Hey @GodOfChess9346

This usually happens because school email filters block external emails (like password resets) from outside the school district.

Since you can't receive the automated reset email, your best option is to contact Chess.com Support directly to manually update your account. Here is what you should do:

Open a Support Ticket: Go to https://support.chess.com/article/346-contact-us.
Explain the Situation: Tell them that your account is linked to a school email that cannot receive external mail.
Provide a New Email: If you have a personal Gmail or another email address, let them know you’d like to move your account to that email so you can set a password.
Verification: Be prepared to prove the account is yours (they might ask for your username, when you created the account, or recent games you played).
Once Support verifies you, they can manually change the email on your account so you can finally set a password

The process is about the same for all sites all over the Internet. You cannot see your password, unless you're just typing it and you turn on the "show password" option. You're supposed to know your password, not have it displayed to you. If there would be a way to display your password, someone could steal it while you're away from the keyboard. It's a security risk and nobody does this, because they offer you the option to go through a "password reset" process in which, usually, a link gets sent to your email account and it allows you to set a new password. This is the standard solution.

What if you don't have your email account? That is a big boo-boo, but you can still go through a process called "account recovery". You essentially have to prove that you are the account owner. This is not an easy process, but if it would be easy, it would allow anyone else to gain access to your account by claiming that they are you. I'm not sure how this site handles this, but you can call their support and get them to help. If the site doesn't know much about you, then it won't be able to verify your identity and then it won't even have this process available.

It can be very frustrating to lose access to your account and not be able to recover it. But nobody will give your account back just for declaring frustration. You'll have to create a new account and manage it more carefully.
