How long after payment does my membership get upgraded?

If you don't see it applied soon use the Help option in the menu, while in that account, and contact Support for help.
I just paid for a year's platinum membership (first-time), and I'm wondering how long I should expect to wait before my account is upgraded. I did not go through the normal hoops to pay - I used PayPal directly from me to order@chess.com since I was not allowed to use the PayPal option without a credit card. See this advice from chess.com support:
Sure, if you are having problems then you can send your payment directly
to order@chess.com Paypal address including a note with your username and
what you are purchasing. Thank you for your support of Chess.com!
