How long after payment does my membership get upgraded?

I just paid for a year's platinum membership (first-time), and I'm wondering how long I should expect to wait before my account is upgraded. I did not go through the normal hoops to pay - I used PayPal directly from me to order@chess.com since I was not allowed to use the PayPal option without a credit card. See this advice from chess.com support:

Sure, if you are having problems then you can send your payment directly
to order@chess.com Paypal address including a note with your username and
what you are purchasing. Thank you for your support of Chess.com!

I did so, but it's been a couple days now and my account is still a basic membership.

OK, for future reference, when paying this way, give it a couple days. I just got it.

If you are able to pay by PayPal without credit card it will take a few seconds

If you don't see it applied soon use the Help option in the menu, while in that account, and contact Support for help.
