I personally doubt the links listed here are "official" in any sense; more likely, some person with a programming "knack" had nothing to do, and decided to make several "mega-sections" (akin to section links in Google Sites) of Chess.com so he could use it on his school computers, and- like most projects of that kind -it spread, through his school/university/college, through the internet, and then through Chess.com itself.

Our school has trash Internet access and if anybody tries to play chess, they might get suspended or expelled

I went to Brooklyn Tech and interestingly while the computers internet worked fine the wifi barely did no matter what we were trying to do. Yearly electric bill was $1 million supposedly.
