Not implementing this feature is a terrible UX design choice. I have lost a significant amount of games playing with a track pad and accidentally clicking instead of dropping.
Once again I dropped the Queen on the wrong square because my mouse hand moved slightly while I clicked the from square, and it was taken as a one square move. Please repair the click to move option. I do beg you.
This is so stupid. Why are they not fixing this ?
Looks like I'll also have to cancel my subscription and move onto some other platform like L I C H E S S or C H E S S 24

No it's not, there is now an option for Drag Only, check the settings. I just changed mine.

There were only 2 options before one for Drag, which included the ability to also click, and just Click. The message that is shown above applied to the Drag option. However, there is now a 3rd option, which is Drag Only.
So I guess we've finally won this battle...
