How to insert a diagram [guide for visual people with many pictures] ;)

It's easier to understand a line if you can see it on a diagram. I had some struggles myself to figure out how this works, my hope is to help some people out with my little guide.

 

 follow the next steps.

[click the "Download button below the game you wanna share or discuss]

[if you can copy your game data from here, do it and skip the next step please,

if not:

a new window will pop up, click "Download" again]

[this dialogue will show up, click "open" and you'll have all game information in a text editor]

[copy everything (strg-A and strg-C), so it will work for 960 games and standard chess and you'll have all the game information (players..) too, if you only wanna share the game copy everything below "TimeControl"]

[click this little chess board]

[this window should pop up, enter your game under "Load PGN" (strg-V)]

[go to the last move of your game]

[choose "Setup" you can change here, who has the next move and flip the board, if you want,

it's Whites move and Whites perspective by default]

[go to "Moves" to enter your moves just by moving the pieces, if you did a mistake or you wanna change something you can delete a move, click the right mouse button and you'll see the menu showed in the graphic

you can change the style of the board or the pieces under "Theme" if you want]

[to enter the game in the forum, just click "Insert"]

Why open it up with a text editor? (Your 3rd window)

Why not just copy what opens in the 2nd window?

Thank you, if this works, perfect, just skip the editor and copy it from the dialogue in the 2nd image. I will add this option.

I don't know why in my case I could mark the data, but no chance to copy it. So to open it in an editor should work for everyone.
