How to make challenges for single games

I have several times accepted an open challenge and found I am playing 2 games. How do I accept a challenge for just one game? Is the + button a default for 2 game challenges?

Sounds like that may have been a bug. The only place where you would play two games against a player is in Daily tourneys.

Is the orange circle with the "+" for single game challenges or dual game challenges. I play 1 move/3 days. I often ger 2 games when I hit this button. What do I hit for a single game challenge? Thanks

Single game. You might accidentally be double-tapping it.

How do I play as black when I create an open challenge?

Change it to unrated first.

does that mean there's NO option for playing rated as Black ? On Turn Based?

On turn based you can choose color on rated games. Just not on Live.

Is there any way I can issue a challenge but confine it to people more or less in my time zone? I am in South Africa & find that playing with someone from say, America is very slow because of the time difference. Thank you.

No, there is no way to do that. You could do direct challenges to people that might be closer to you by either finding a group or groups for your region or aclose one. Or you could do a members search by country. Though people may or may not have correct information in their location.
