How to Recover a Closed Account

Hi

winerkleiner

I have a thread about usernames that people might encounted on Chess.com which I post in many times in a row, I've never been closed down for that.  Is it different when posting in your own thread?

Umm it depends. Are you posting within seconds and posting on different forums too? Are you constantly messaging people? If not, then you are okay.

V3 better be good!

Balusaheb

My account (Balusaheb) was also closed on 26th July,14 abruptly. I felt irritated as I was under the impression that account gets closed for using unfair means while playing games. The account was re-establised within an hour or so after contacting chess.com support.

Now everything is clear after reading Quote # 9. I had sent six messages in a row. Thanks to  chess.com staff and specially to kohai for her detailed writing. Thanks again.

Kohai is very understanding and she loves animals!

You all hear that?!

I am in with a staff member. Don't mess with me or you will feel the wrath of Kohai!

Yes its different for threads, it doesn't apply to threads because the 'real' spammers that attack sites with high numbers tend to go for private messages or homepage notes, not forum threads. Threads are too public and they know they'll be closed down as soon as staff see them.

lol not quite. I only helped out on here one time because I happen to be in here and with the support team being American, they were offline at the time. I don't actually work on chess.com now and haven't for months now, I work over on chesskid.com managing that site, but I come on here daily only because I'm working on a project for Danny Rensch. I have a quick check of the forums when I'm in here just in case there are any 'fake passport' spammers or 'dateline' type spammers in here that need removing.

Had the op's brothers account been closed for any other reason, I'd have asked him to contact support. I only helped out as it was a simple spam closure and takes seconds to correct :)

I love it on there. Down side is that I have so many friends on here and I miss you all :(

So kohai, just curius, how do they choose chess.com staff members? Do they choose them in the cyber world? Or in the real world? Or in both?

MuhammadAreez10

Oh! Pity.

Whenever their is a position within the staff, Erik (the site owner) sends out a homepage inbox message to all Chess.com members asking them if they want to apply, they can, using a link he gives as long as they meet the criteria he adds on the message.

Thanks for explaining kohai.

winerkleiner

Does Chess.com provide a retirement plan?

kohai

Not that I'm aware of no
