There are 4 ways of starting an online game:
- Play Now let's you set a rating range.
- Start New Game doesn't offer you a rating range ... UNTIL you set Choose Opponent to Random AND click on Edit Filters - to reach the rating range option.
(It is possible that Edit Filters is a premium-only feature.) - Open Seeks shows the actual rating of opponents who are waiting for a game.
- On your Online Settings page, you can set upper and lower rating limits for both the challenges you make - and the challenges you receive.
