It's actually against the Chess.com Terms of Service to have more than one account: it is considered cheating to play those accounts against each other. Please choose which account you would like to keep and close the other, or Chess.com will choose for you.

Thanks,

To paraphrase "Fight Club":

The first rule of having another account is, don't  talk about having another account.

What if a user has a sibling/friend that has a chess.com account and kindly allows him/her to challenge him/her with lots of mercy? If you don't know what I mean, look here for an example:

User: I would like to get a higher rating.

User's Sibling/Friend: Okay. I can do that.

User: How?

User's Sibling/Friend: I will show you 100% mercy so you can challenge me to get a free rating.

User: Thanks.

*And so they play*

User: My rating is 3000 now. Nobody has that rating.

User's Sibling/Friend: I don't mind my rating to be 0. Now you are the most high rated player.

Sounds like "User" and "User's Sibling/Friend" have no integrity and are throwing games.

And why would someone want a rating that they haven't rightly earned/don't deserve?

Isn't that precisely what cheaters do?

Siblings can have an account as well, but the accounts must be clearly distinguishable as such AND they may only play Unrated games against each other: they may NOT play Rated games against each other, as this is too hard to separate from cheating.

I know there is a rule that only one account is allowed per computer (or IP address?) to avoid cheating. How about creating an account for our child? Obviously we have to share computer but aside from that, our rating will be totally different so there is no way that we will play against each other (besides it is also not possible to have 2 accounts logged-in at the same time). Are we allowed to create an account for another family member without the risk of being banned?

Like I said earlier, family members can create accounts on the same computer, but they must not play each other in Rated games: Unrated games are fine.

Bruh, first of all, you won't get to 3K points just from playing a friend over and over again.. Besides, the more you win, the higher rating you get, the lower your friend's rating gets. You won't lose or add any points from playing a rating difference that high. I know its just an example, but it's still against the rules to have two accounts linked to the same Gmail, but of course, you can still make another Gmail and start a new Expert account, but it really won't work if you are going to play others, since you aren't actually that rating, you lose, lose, lose until you reach your real rating again. So even if you are a cheater, no one cares but you are spending YOUR life and WASTING it. It's not worth it.
