Humble suggestion for the Tactics Trainer

For the happiness of people who love doing tactics problems without the pressure of time, why don't you introduce a "Standard" (i.e. untimed) rating, in parallel with the "Blitz" (i.e. timed) rating?

I think that would be relatively easy to implement, and would make a lot of people happy Tongue out

Thanks in advance for considering this!

If you go to settings in Tactics Trainer, you can change the problems to unrated, which is, I think, what you are after.

Thanks for your post, Evil. I knew the unrated option, but I was really thinking about a rated, non timed option (as implemented on chesstempo).

Thanks for the link, Evil!

I see the thing has been discussed thouroughly, but I still hope this will be reconsidered.

In a OTB tournament, it easily happens that you spend 15/20 minutes on a key position, and I see nothing wrong in having to do that here, as training, with no pressure from the time.

Time is not the only factor: there are complex positions over which I could ponder one week, but I will never find the solution...

Anyway, I see the topic has already been discussed, so I'll close it here!

Thanks all again,

Andrea
