I cannot get the chess.com app on ipad to recognize my premium subscription...need advice!

I am new to chess.  Late starter at 78 yrs old.  I just subscribed to Chess.com with a yearly premium subscription.  I tried to install the chess.com app on my iPad but when it comes up it askes if I want to go "Premium."  When I say yes, it asks for my password under my email address.  I type it in correctly but it does nothing.  In fact is just gives me a blank password line again.

Does my online account not include using the separate Chess.com app?

How do I solve this?  Thanks for any help.

Hey @mwsheeler 👋

Yes, your Premium subscription absolutely includes the iPad app. There is no separate subscription required. You just need to log in with the same username and password you used on the website.

Since it is looping back to a blank password field, that usually means one of these things is happening:

1. The app may need to be fully closed and reopened. Try double-tapping the Home button or swiping up to close the Chess.com app fully, then reopen it and try again.

2. Make sure you are logging in with your username, not just your email. Sometimes the app behaves better if you use the username directly.

3. If that still does not work, try deleting the app completely from your iPad and reinstalling it fresh from the App Store. That often fixes login glitches.

4. Also check that your iPad is updated to the latest iPadOS version, and that the Chess.com app is fully updated.

If none of that works, log in to chess.com in Safari on your iPad to confirm your password is correct. If it works there, then it is definitely just an app issue.

Worst case, you can contact Support directly from the website while logged in and explain that the app login screen keeps resetting your password field.

But no, your subscription is fine; this is almost certainly just a small technical hiccup with the app.

Hope that helps. Let us know how it goes.
