p.s. if i could afford it, I would pay a thousand times over. My one complaint is that chess mentor is only available with diamond membership( the aspect of the site I desire access too most) but diamond is a little steep. I appreciate the cost of running the website, and the consequent reasoning behind the prices, but that a middle-class english kid can't afford makes me wonder about what someone from a, shall we say, 'less wealthy' nation would do in the same circumstances. I also understand that this website is not a charity, although you may be forgiven for thinking as much given the sheer amount of free material. In summary, thanks chess.com.

I feel this is because, people who complain, don't actually read the threads. They just want to complain. By the by this thread is rediculous. If you don't want to pay who cares, don't pay. I see no valid reason to make this known, other than to try and start something up.

This site to me is great as a free site but I feel THEY will have to offer a lot more in order for me to pay for it. You know television started this way. Free viewing as long as they could put commercial on in between the shows but, have you noticed that you pay for cable and you still have the commercials. One day you will wake up and see that you are fighting against yourself and wish that us few trolls were still around.

Semi off topic: I know that my bank offers a "virtual" credit card. If you have a credit card issued thru Bank of America, they have a service called "ShopSafe". Essentially, you create a virtual card from that issued CC with the "credit limit" that you want on there. That particular number cannot be used for more than on your credit limit on there. One use cc numbers! It also has a feature for reoccuring charges. Search on google for Bank of America and shopsafe. Other banks probably have the same thing.
It's great for magazine subscriptions, people that you don't trust with your "REAL" cc info, and sketchy chess websites (LOL) :)

It would be a lot easier to plead ignorance, then to bash a site that thousands of us enjoy. If chess.com was such a rip off, don't you think there would be more disgruntled members than just you?
