I just got done playing a game with [public accusations not allowed -- MOD] and he kept harassing me with extremely inappropriate chat messages. Is this the place to address this??

Not trying to accuse anyone publicly, I just was trying to let someone know that a player kept throwing out some gross sexual comments to me. Yes, I can and did ignore them and didn't respond, but trying to find a private place to communicate stuff this is like looking for a needle in a haystack. Sorry.

I went to that link and it asked for a screenshot. I looked at the other link on how to take a screenshot and did. But how then do I post it??? I know you say that you feel it is important to monitor your site but at this point I am getting so frustrated jumping through all of your hoops that it is easier to just ignore it and let others get the same treatment from the person.

The direct link for reporting such behaviour is at the bottom of that FAQ - it is https://support.chess.com/customer/portal/emails/new

You will need to save your screen shot to an image sharing site, such as flickr or imgur; there are also tools like Jing which will take a screen shot and save it to their sharing site straight away.

Chess.com's Report a Bug functionality allows you to take a screen shot as part of the reporting process, and it would be good if the same could be made available for abuse reports - I will see if that's in our Site Feedback & Suggestions somewhere.

I have the screenshots but don't know anything about flicker, imgur, or Jing? Do I have to figure that out too in order to make a complaint???

No, you don't - you can log the complaint through the link and just copy & paste the text of the chat in the message: it's not as strong evidence as a screen shot, but a screen shot isn't 100% proof either, as they can also be faked. If it was a message or a user note on your profile, you could just not delete them and let the Support team know about them, and they would delete them after verifying them; unfortunately, there's too much chat going on in all of the games to store all of it, hence the screen shots.

Jing requires a download to your PC and is probably most useful if you take regular screenshots, as moderators and Staff sometimes need to do. For casual images, something like imgur works fine - just log on to www.imgur.com and create an account - if you've got a Yahoo or Google / Gmail account, those will work fine.

Imgur then has a "Add Images" button on your home page - from there, you can drag your saved file, or just Print Screen and Paste into the box. Imgur then saves your image - clicking on the image that you've just uploaded gives you a host of options to share the image, and you can just copy & paste the direct URL into your message, like http://i.imgur.com/sOyP3nx.png?1

Hope that helps!
