Info on why players are banned

Good evening.

There is currently an on-going Vote Chess 960 game which has started a LONG time ago as it is played at one move per three days. The game has developed into a very interesting game given all the time to do the analysis.

Several players have been banned over the course of the game, two of which have provided amazing analysis for the weaker players among the White team. Other players have not been banned though they maybe should but that is for another time.

I come here this evening to suggest that some information be available as to why a player was banned from the website. In the last day or so, a player by the name of Rokuro was banned for reasons completely unknown to half the team that very enthusiastically looked up to his analysis. All traces of his exsitence have been erased like he never existed. Akin to something from 1940 Germany...

There has been a good deal of talk in the public chat of that vote chess game surrounding what is and isn't allowed (posting analysis or vote result data) and the vibe I am getting is that someone complained about AN instance of something questionably against the rules, and then a number of "judges" (less than two, I should bet) instantly and irrevocably banned him without looking at any of what had been going on around that time.

If Rokuro has in fact been banned for something posted in the public chat of a vote chess game, then I can assure you another dozen also deserve the same judgement. There was something about accusing a player of being a Nazi (maybe someone ought to look it up) but grown people have been known to settle issues like that on their own.

On the other hand, Rokuro may have been banned for completely separate reasons, but since we only know as little as the "ACCOUNT CLOSED" message tells us, it is impossible for us to tell.

Would it be possible to leave more information on a profile page (accusations against the player, evidence supporting them, etc.?)

Oh, dear. I believe I may have put this in the wrong place. I was originally going to write this with a slightly different focus (which would have been appropriate for "Help and Support").

Could someone above perhaps move this thread to "Site feedback where it quite obviously belongs? Thank you!

If you wish to discuss it further, I recommend you post a forum topic here:

http://www.chess.com/groups/home/cheating-forum

as discussion of cheating is not allowed in the public forums.

I wonder what sort of things people likened all bad situations to before WWII. Now every patzer and his mother (and father, and probably siblings, cousins, etc...) reference 1940 Germany in relation to mundane circumstances that probably don't even need to be mentioned in the first place.

Just remember the sage advice from the movie Bambi: If you can't talk about things without referencing the Nazi's, you probably shouldn't mention them at all.

this is a bad forum, it should be in CHEATING FORUM http://www.chess.com/groups/home/cheating-forum

Well, my argument is that "cheating" is rather vague. If Chess.com's response is going to be "Yeah, we don't talk about that" then I am rather concerned.

And Jason17: I was a hair away from referencing the Soviets instead. You could pick whichever corrupt government you want, really.

So far we have two people telling me to go to the designated area because public mention of the word cheating is prohibited, two people referring to a list that shows that Rokuro was in fact banned for cheating, one person saying that I am obviously wrong because I made a small reference to Germany in the forties and one person telling me I am wasting my time.

Why exactly can we not be shown evidence of this cheating? And what is so bad about discussing cheating on a public forum? I have failed to imagine the ensuing chaos.
