I only ever get an ad once i've logged out of chess.com and am still on the logged off page.
How about moving the ad banners up above the menu bar? Seems a simple enough work-around....
did you really have a popup!??? no way. if you see it again i need a screenshot and also the destination URL so i can file a complaint and block that ad!
and no, iframes don't fix the situation. neither does z-index :( the flash-type ads can float above it all! :((
