iPad live chess error

I used to love this app, but about a month ago it stopped working for live chess. I've tried everything I can think of (delete + reinstall app, restart ipad, login with different account, searching this board for solutions, etc) but the problem persists.

Problem summary: I can login to the app fine but when I try to play "live chess" the screen stalls on "connecting" with the loading circle. Then after a few seconds it logs me out and says "error please login again". If I try to log back in, the problem remains. It is especially strange because the other features seem to work fine (nonlive online games, vs comp games, etc).

I was hopeful that the latest update (both app update or iOS update) would fix it, but it has not :-(

This is happening to me too. I've tried the same fixes as well with no luck. Is there a fix in the works?... I miss live chess on the iPad.

My problem is this:  I can play a game live vs someone, but about 10 moves in my clock keeps running down after I make a move, and nothing can be done

I wish this worked as well as the website version :(

I've updated the os and the chess.com application on my iPod touch, but live chess does not work. Is the 4.2.1 model no longer supported?

My same problem on the iPad remains...haven't been able to use the iPad app for live games for months now. So sad.

Which iPad do you have? This is really unfortunate because live chess via ipad is the best way to experience live chess out there.

I'm curious too... This is not a problem I've seen so far (iPad 1), and I'm on the in-store version at the moment too.

Shot in the dark here. Log out of the app (via App settings), and shut it down completely (via the iOS task bar).

After that, via the website, try changing your password. (http://www.chess.com/home/change_password.html)

Once that's done, reopen the app, login with your new password, and try Live again. Let us know if that works, & forgive me if it ends up a total waste of effort! :)

sorry about the delay, it's no secret i have been rarely using chess.com since this whole mess started... BUT: changing the password worked! Not sure why, but thanks for the brilliant fix. Happy to enjoy live chess on the ipad now... Also, just so you know: I was (and still am) using the most recent chess.com app on an ipad 1 running software version 5.1.1 (9B206).

Now that we've seen that works, perhaps we can better isolate the root cause of the initial issue....
