Did the computer take a pawn en passant? Or did it move a piece, and suddenly you were missing a piece?

I don't believe that was the issue. The question concerns a computer making a move while the opponent is in mid-move. It seems to me to be more a matter of computer malfunction than one of computer cheating.

Ive never known a computer to actually "cheat" in a chess game. Usually those bugs are worked out of engines very early on. Is it possible, like someone else mentioned, that the computer made an en-passant move? If you are unsure what that move is, you can read about it here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/En_passant . That is my best guess for what happened. If I'm wrong, please provide us with some more details and maybe we will be able to assist you.
