Sicilian is as good as any opening, but it is important to understand it - I think 90% of people on this site, who play Sicilian regulary, don't know how to play it correctly. Usually, they just play too passive.

I fully agree with this. The Sicilian is Black's best chance to fight for the initiative,but you have to play very very agressive.It is not a defence for those who like a quiet game.
I also feel that white know so many counters especially if you go to higher levels, the sicillian does'nt work anymore.

When you play sicilian particularly Najdorf....black has to be very careful and alert .....it will become a mess otherwise....unless otherwise you want to play sharp and aggressive better not to chose this

Karpov a greatest positional player does not have a better result in sicilian .....it is because his style did not match with the opening....so if you want to play more of positional better choose something else
