Issues with play against the computer

Hello, 

I have been having this problem for a while now. When I play the 2000+ computer, and occasionally the 1600 (but much more infrequently), the computer will be "thinking" for extended periods of time, some times several minutes. This gets extremely frustrating, especially since it happens more common than not when I am in a winning position. Obviously I'm not accusing the machine of foul play. Several months ago, I did not have this problem with the 2000+ machine.

Is this a common problem, or is it possible that there is something on my end? All my drivers and software are up to date, and my internet speed is fine.

Thanks for the feedback. Does it always move, eventually - or is it just hanging?

It usually moves when I stick around, but on the especially long ones, as in 7-8 minutes, I usually just get tired of waiting and close out. 

If it helps, it almost seems that the less pieces that are on the board, the more likely this is to occure. Also, in a game I just played against the machine, several times the computer literally had only one or two possible moves, and it still took several minutes.
