When you create a new game, why don't you make the settings so you play as black?

I've looked everywhere for that option. I even posted in this forum about it. If it's there, I can't seem to find it. I play on my iPad, perhaps the options is not available there?

It's there, but you have to be willing to play unrated if you want to hand-pick your color. Otherwise, if you accept White when you get it, you should definitely get black about 50% of the time.

While ignorance is never an excuse, I am hoping I can get a second chance because I wasn't aware of the policy that you can't abort games. And the only reason I did so was because the game almost ALWAYS makes me white, so I was getting zero practice as black and was just trying to find a way to play as black, since there doesn't seem to be any way to choose to be black!
Nonetheless, if it helps at all and if anyone is reading this who can unflag me, I am very sorry and promise never to do it again! :)
