Kept disconnected, wifi fine, I want my 9 rating points back.

I was playing a game, COMPLETELY WINNING, and it kept bugging out. My wifi is perfectly fine, no one is even on it except me, three bars as well. I want my rating back, even if it is 9 points.

You have lost 3 games by abandonment.

You have won 11.

So I can't even be compensated for a chess.com fault? Because I know it had nothing to do on my end.

The site does not normally refund points for connection issues, unless it was an overall server outage. Just because you didn't notice a connection issue in the client interface or to your router, does not mean that there wasn't a client side issue.

Other processes running on your system can cause packet drops and disconnects. There can be problems between your router and ISP or between your ISP and the site. None of that is a chess.com fault.

Problems on the site end generally impact everyone on site. @justbefair is pointing out you have won 11 games by abandonment, which also were likely not site issues, and have gained points from those games.

However, if you could contact support directly and they might refund the points, but it's unlikely and may only happen once.

Thanks for the explanation. There was nothing else on my computer running at the time either.

It's not going to happen.  Now you're stuck.  Those 9 points are gone, forever.

A freshly booted computer has software running and using resources, including network, before any browsers are launched. You also could have security software (such as AV) and once the browser is launched any add-ons or plugins will use resources. Multiple browser windows or tabs will as well.

I've had issues where there was a pending browser update and things just stopped working correctly, requiring a browser restart to update and clear up the issues.

I can't definitively say it was a client side problem, but most of the time it's that or something between you and the site.

I am currently on the beta version, would it possibly have anything to do with that?

Or, he could play another game and win it.

Now it seems as if this was beta. I just had joined beta maybe that game or the game prior? And I had this issue for 2 games in a row, and then I decided to stop beta and it stopped. So a beta issue.

Haven't heard of any similar beta issues. Could possibly be, though I would expect reports in the club about issues.
