NO, but since you just joined 5 days ago this doesn't strike me as a really important issue. As far as how long you'll be banned for you can contact the staff directly via Help & Support at the bottom of the page
BTW I think they use "auto-detection" software here for cursing, racial slurs, etc so watch out!

I just recieved my first loss in standard game after I got kicked for cursing. I admit that i had typed out a vulgarity, but after I had recieved a warning I stopped typing in the chat immediately. Even so, I recieved a ban a short while later despite not saying anything in chat in fear of being banned. Furthermore, the vulgarity wasn't used in an insult, and if you check the chat I was actually having quite a nice correspondence with my opponent. Other topics said that it was going to be 30 minutes, but I've been banned for hours now. Is there any way that I can get my rating back to what it was before the forced loss?

Edit: I would tell you what I said, and its a word that doesn't qualify as a curse word, but is admittedly impolite, but I'm afraid that I'll get banned again if I say it

Are you telling me that I should explain the above in a detail? Few vulgar words didn't get you banned, you might have crossed the line as you were warned but since you are really stubborn to continue, maybe get a new account and follow the same process again, this time no chatting for few days, give chess.com the impression that you are a serious chess player. No... I didn't continue, that was my point. I stopped chatting immediately after I got the warning. I made a move and was banned even though I didn't say anything else in the chat. I wasn't stubborn to continue, as I said in my first post. Its a singular vulgarity, and it was the first conversation that I had said one, the first warning that I got.

I do not think Ms. Lin deserves to be banned. Ms. Lin was indeed talking about my unfortunately feminine accomplice, Robin. The expletive used was part of a friendly conversation and was used with no ill will towards anyone I am certain.
I am sorry Ms. Lin that I have not been on in a few days, I had ...... business ...... to attend to.
