Length of forum posts

Is there a limit to how long a forum post can be here on chess.com?

In one of the active groups I belong to (Dan Heisman Learning Centre), we have started producing a monthly newsletter. When our editor was trying to copy and paste text from a Google Drive document to post the February newsletter into a forum yesterday, some of the text was chopped off at the bottm. This leads me to think that there is a size limit.

If so, it would be nice to know what that is so that we can adjust our newsletters to fit.

We do also produce a .PDF version that members can download, but that loses the interactive nature of the puzzles and any games we include in the newsletter. Our preferred method is a forum post as the main option.

Thanks in advance.

Why don't you guys just write a blog instead?

That is a possibility we hadn't yet considered.

Never having used a blog here on chess.com before, what would the advantages of blog be over a forum post?

I am not sure of the mechanics of creating a group blog. I have seen some individual ones but not any group blogs yet.

I've never done a blog myself, but It seems that they can be very long and I don't think you have to worry about them "timing out" (may have changed, but you used to only have 10 minutes to compose a forum post).  You can then post a link in the forums directing nonmembers to it.  Your members would have a consistent place to go instead of relying on forum posts, and you would have your blog posts in chronological order in one place.  Good luck, and one of these days I'll get off my lazy butt and join your group.  Big fan of the "Coach".
