On chess.com my elo for Blitz fluctuates a lot (check my profile) where as on lichess, my rating has steadily improved since playing on the site, now at 1313 (same username if that helps at all). I know that at my level Lichess ratings tend to be 300/400 points higher than chess.com ratings, but why does my rating fluctuate so much here. Not having a go with this post, genuinely wanting real feedback.

Different rating systems + different pairing approaches + different communities + your activities are different: ~1100 games on chess.com vs ~200 games on lichess since January 9, 2026 (the day you created the account on lichess)...

Also I created a stylish plot based on your blitz game history:

Omg, thank you for that. Seriously awesome of you

That is so kind of you :)

Does my chess.com rating (around 800) mean I get paired with new players who may have higher and lower ratings than me? How much impact do you think that might have on my rating?

Looking at the graph, I can see more similarities between fluctuations on both sites now. Just less games on lichess means less of a drop. But drops on both do seem to correlate

Thanks again :)

Some fluctuations, obviously not all

Sorry, I should have processed fully before responding. Still something I'm trying to get better at. I got used to having to respond sooner than I like to and still do it from time to time.

About new players. This plot shows the age of accounts of your opponents before your first mutual game since you made your account:

And this plot shows the same but since January 9, 2026:
