Well, first of all, you are not allowed to have more than one account and I think that is having more than one account, even though the other one is closed. Here is the link to a FAQ about the rule about having multiple accounts:

Also, if it says your account was deleted if you tried to link to your account through Facebook, then it is more than likely that your account is going to be deleted soon by Chess.com. There is also not a reason to close one account and make a new one. I had an account and deleted it. I just reopened a new account and would like to link to my FB. However, it tells me that the account was deleted. How can I link?
