live chess rating

Hi everyone,

I am new here. Could someone tell me how the rating works ? when i play live chess.

It all boils down to this: You win a game, your rating goes up, you lose a game, your rating goes down.

There are three seperate ratings- Blitz (I think between 3-10 minute games), quick (below 3 mins) and Long (above 10 mins).

Your rating also goes up a lot more if you beat someone rated higher than you than if you beat someone rated lower than you; vice versa for a loss.

it's a theory

I find that;

finish a game, your rating goes up

signal disconnection, then rating lowers

the first game i won, and i get 113 points. thats allot
