losing because of this “ drag “ and “ drag pieces only “ option in the settings

The piece that I move keeps landing on the wrong square, and not the square that I had chosen. I keep losing games when I’m in a winning position , I’m utterly fed up to the teeth 🦷 with this situation. When I go to settings I see two options available to me , the first is “ Drag only “ the second is “ Drag pieces only “ this is as clear as mud , cos they’re both the same 🤷♂️.... will someone please be good enough to tell me which of these two options I should choose, to prevent my pieces landing on the wrong square ! .....?other wise I shall soon be heading to the local sanatorium ! 😤

There are three options.
Sounds like you might like the "click squares" method better.
In click squares method, to move a bishop from f1 to a6, you click f1 and then a6.
You have posted previously that you have a tablet and that you sometimes drop pieces early when dragging.
I can only see the two options that I mentioned 🤷♂️
I have found the missing option click only , just scrolled up a bit and their it was !

Same thing happens to me! I have click squares and still it allows me to drag and drop instead of forcing me to click squares only. Can this be enforced?

I'm having the problem of having selected Click only, saved.
And It will still allow me to drag pieces...
And It is driving me insane.
Had it happen where I'm moving my rooks across board, and they'll randomly place themselves down in the middle of where I was going to place them.
And even Resigned a game just now after what was meant to be a Queen trade at the start, ended up placing my queen promptly infront of the enemy queen just giving it for free....
All of a sudden despit I didn't change any settings on my desktop I can only drag pieces around. Clicking is not allowed. It's sending me crazy, because from mac touch pad dragging is really impractical, I keep dropping the piece half way to the right square.
Please help! what changed?! I see there' another comment from 18hs ago. Did something change?
