Lost game in a M1 position after opponent stalled

Playing a 20' game I get in a M1 position with 17' remaining on the clock of both players.

Opponent stalled for 5 minutes as I had the unavoidable checkmate pre-moved.

Tired of waiting I start checking other apps on my phone, checking back periodically on the game. To my surprise after too long checking whatsapp I go back to the app to find out I lost the game in a M1 position by resignation. The app doesn't even show a notification to tell you you are about to resign!!!

I have never felt such pain with chess before, and I expect reparation otherwise I will cancel my subscription on this site.

It is an unfortunate situation but it's not chess.com's fault.

Chess.com doesn't control your phone. When you go to another app for long enough, the chess connection evidently gets closed.

However, you can report your opponent for stalling. Be sure to include the game link and a description similar to what you said. Ask for an adjudication.

Yes that is the game... Also my first game with a brilliant move I see know which adds to the frustration. Thanks for the advise, for now I have no answer by chess.com

Well apparently it was due to server overcapacity and something. Still the answer from chess.com was fairly fast and to the point, and apparently returned the points (game still shows as a loss though), so I am going to stick around. Thanks
