What actually happens is the games will be supplemented with the portion of 24 hours not used. So if you come back off vacation after 30 hours, it will use up 2 days of vacation time and add 18 hours to your clock.

You shouldn't time out, at worst you will be put back on vacation, but you should get extra time on your clock.

You can't just leave your games on vacation in any case.
