Hi guys!! The time on chess.com is falty!! I checked several 3 minute matches with my kids sitting next to me and watching!!! I lost some 10 matches on time, and what we proved is that when I made my moves, the opponents clock didn't decrease, instead when we finally coul see their moves, our clock would drops by 3-5 seconds instantly and then would go down from there!!! I dont care who the software engineer is, but I need to see the opponent's move, and then only my time should start going down!!! That's cheating, and I highly recommend you fixing this issue!!!
Major Bug with Time

You didn't read the link posted earlier explaining lag adjustments.

The rest of it.
I'm consistently surprised by the effort you make trying to explain this.
Yeah, this is a horrible problem. I'd rather just NOT be set up with a weak connection IN THE FIRST PLACE than have to keep losing because the second it's my turn I have lost several seconds in the game. It's terribly annoying and I'd like them to do something about it.

If you have a terrible connection... It's your own fault. Listen to yourself.

I just played a 10 minute Blitz game and encountered a major bug with the time.. I was up on time versus my opponent and he somehow gained time on the last few moves. He was down to 5 seconds then it would glitch out and he miraculously gained 15 seconds and somehow ended up winning on time himself. The whole time I was up about 20-25 seconds on him then out of nowhere I lose on time.
What is going on here? Can I ammend the loss or what?
you lost!

why is it my fault that the opponent has a weak connection. if you dont have a steady internet connection you shouldnt be allowed to play. period.

... and your point is ?
if your opponent has a poor connection and disconnects, you win ?

the problem is that my time runs out, while the opponet's is compensated with an extra second if i play bullet. i've seen this on others and i know for sure that this is what happens when the opponent has low connection

This really is BS. I have people that should be losing to me on the clock, many, many, many but this bug is ruining the game. How can my time be going up? I am starting with 5 min, then I have 6+ minutes, my opponent has 20 seconds then he still has 20 seconds, then he has 40 seconds. Time being added to both myself and an opponent that is delaying the game. WTF? total joke might just use another site. Getting sick of chess.com

You can never have more time than you started with, unless you are playing increment time controls. The site has to modify the clocks after each move because move transmission from client > live server > client is not instantaneous and the client clock on your side stops counting down and your opponent's clock starts as soon as your move is submitted and before the server receieves it. That transit time is taken into account and will add some time back after each move.
All sites have to handle that transit time in one way or another and then have to decide how to handle lag. Here, some lag is forgiven.
oh is this an admin? another tool that doesn't actually play but sits around and pretend he is right about everything?
Not an admin. Just another player who has played ten times as many games here as you and tries to help 576-rated players like you who have become confused about why they are losing so much.
