Meebo is causing Chess.com pages to not load.

Chess.com is nearly unusable this morning because of Meebo. Chess.com pages load quickly, but hangs connecting to Meebo. Because of this, none of the Javascript on the pages run and I can't play chess. I ended up blocking Meebo with Adblock and everything is working fine again.

I am surprised that you have tied the stability of your site to a 3rd party that you have no control over. Is there a way to turn off Meebo in my account settings? I never use it and the chat in-game is enough for me.

You can completely turn off chat completely in your  Privacy section (Account)

Where it says "Chat Bar", use the drop down box and mark as "Never Show" then save settings at the bottom of the page
