Username removed is hardly effective at this stage.
That's funny. A mod did come along and delete the name, even though the guy being talked about came along and responded so everyone knows who it is anyway.

Actually Scott is correct, I was wrong.
If you did let the time run down, you should have gotten a message from Chess.com saying you may have 'violated the fair play policy'.
Otherwise, I believe in tournaments, they have rules about just letting a clock run down if there is significant time on the clock.
I don't agree with it. But it is one of those 'pasify anal retentive chess player' rules. I believe it is your time and you should be allowed to do with it as you please.

It just makes a server unplayable. Chessbomb takes your stance and is completely unplayable. Nobody ever plays long games because they know opponents wont resign.

No you don't. Chess players can only compete because there is an underlying requirement that we should be sporting. Without this requirment there can be no chess or any other competitive event.
Letting the clock run down is only a "right" in the technical sense.
Fair enough, you are facing up to the accusations.You should apologise and move on.
Doing something solely to irritate, annoy or harass the opponent is unsportsmanlike and unethical, whether or not the actions were technically allowed by the rules. Intent makes a difference. For example, while a player is entitled to use 10 minutes to think for one move, it would be wrong for a player to le his clock run if he has no chance of winning and is not thinking about his move for the remaining 10 minutes on his clock, with his sole motivation being to force the opponent to waste his time waiting for the clock to run.

It's not banter when you are purposefully trying to annoy the opponent by telling him you are going to just make him sit there until your time runs out while calling him a noob. Very poor sportsmanship.
You are going to find many things comical MrZenx.
Even if he hadn't commented here, the username's still in the URL. But stalling's the main reason that I don't play more than 10 minutes (when I actually play Live Chess!)

You cant let the clock run down for 5 minutes, after about a minute the game will be abandoned, and the user will get a warning. As far as them being abusive, block, report them, and move on.

Use the time to close your eyes and visit the astral plane
Talk to non-human monsters that you encounter
ask them about your recent game
You will find many chess players.
Please someone ban this guy. On 2014-05-22 he mentions in a game against me:
"username removed: I'll just wait ill the time goes"
He then drains 5 minutes on purpose while insulting his opponent. I would appreciate if a Mod helped the community to stay clean.
