Membership charges

I think that they will do it either way. It depends on how you sign up. If you use the iPhone app, iTunes takes its cut. If you sign up through a web browser, you can use debit/credit, PayPal, Bitcoin.

Why does chess.com have so many problems with membership charges compared to sites like Lichess, Chesscube and Chessbase?
How do you know so much about their membership issues? Who's to say they don't have a lot worse? If you sign up for 12 months and then get upset because you get charged, you wouldn't be happy at any site that charges. The guy can't even figure out how to contact support. Some people would be confused no matter what.

The woman just joined 3 days ago. Why she entered billing details like a credit or debit card if she didn't want a premium membership is a mystery.
At any rate, however she did it , chess.com offers a 30 day no questions asked money back guarantee for first time premium members. (First time because otherwise some people would buy and cancel repeatedly. People do this all the time here and then come here frantically asking for their money back.)
There is no reason to be frantic. If you got charged and you are within the 30 day period, you can get your money back, unless you have done this previously. That seems completely fair.
