No. It's just badly phrased. Now if you were a platinum thinking of upgrading to diamond, it would be useful to know how much of your $50 is still left for an upgrade. However you could downgrade your diamond to have more months of gold or platinum.

Thanks for the quick reply. I'll keep my Diamond membership as it is, which means I can't do anything with that "credit". To help my friend, I'll just buy him a 1-month upgrade, and see how that goes. If he puts his upgraded account to good use, I'll be inclined to renew it for him.
I thank you!!
Glad I could help. Thank you for what sharing what you wrote about your past in the other thread. It had special meaning for me because of some changes I'm going through.
The chess world is wonderful and difficult, differently interesting. The new world gives the way and head to keep real life. The chess.com - good work.
Chess is definitely difficult to master, and the chess world is interesting to be part of. And for me, it's not just a game. If you observe yourself closely during competition, you can gain insights into your own nature (and that of others), which is very valuable in life.
what is membership credit? is it deposit on chess.com
When you purchase a membership, the credit is a pro-rated/unused value that can be used for upgrades. It doesn't really mean much for a Diamond level but could impact Gold and Platinum if they upgrade before their membership expires.
I noticed this on my accounts page:
You have $83.54 of membership credit available for upgrades.
I already have a Diamond membership (which can't be upgraded), so can I apply the $83.54 towards next year's membership fee? Can I use it to buy someone else a membership?
