Mobile facebook sign in problem

Hello.

I recently created an account on chess.com. I downloaded the iOS app to my iPod touch 5th Generation. I had created my account by signing in with facebook. On my iPod, whenever I sign in using the "Connect with Facebook" button, a small signing in loading status appears, and a notification appears, and it asks if I want Chess to post on my behalf. I said yes. Then I get hit with this error message:

Facebook Error

The Facebook server could not fulfill this access request: The app must ask for a basic read permission  like email at install time

(End error message)

I would very much like to play on the go, and this problem is bugging me. If there is anything anyone can do, please let me know.

Hi Tyler! I've sent a password reset to your email address so that you're at least able to log in with a password. Can you please go to your device settings, find the Facebook portion, and then make sure that Chess.com has permission to use your FB to login?

I have this problem too. I can get around it for the most part by logging in with a login/password, but I can't use certain features like starting a new game using my Facebook Friends list.

Whether it's related or not, I also can't start a game via "Your Contacts". It gives me a "No Contacts found" error.

Are there any ways to fix these problems?

i have looked for where to do this but cannot find it. settings...facebook... "allow these apps to use your account"... chess is not there. And I cannot add it from this screen.

Suggestions?

My account started working a few days after I posted this comment. Not sure what happened, but it works now!

@jagagne & drew24680- Can you please let me know what version of the Chess.com app you have installed, what version of iOS you have installed, what type of device you're on (iPhone 3G, 4S, iPad 2, etc.), and what version of the facebook app you have installed?

I have an 8g ipod touch with IOS 6.1.3 - I believe it is the 4s model

Chess.com v2.11.8

Facebook v6.6

I'm having this exact problem as well. I can't log in with a password, because I don't have a chess.com password since I signed up via Facebook. That's what it says when I try to request a "forgotten email" password.

I am also having this problem, none of the solutions posted online has worked for me. Seems like getting a password is the only way to sign in.

I am having this same problem any chance of sending me an email so I can get a password log in to my account?
