In general

  • Be 17+
  • Have an account for at least a year
  • Have an account in good standing
  • Apply when the site is looking

Here was a recent recruitment message:

https://www.chess.com/blog/shaun/we-want-you-as-a-chess-com-moderator

Not sure if they are looking for additional mods at this time though.

What does account in good standing mean?

Account in food standing would be no major moderation issues for example. Or site closed account and reopened after contacting support. The site will likely look at posting history as well.
