Moves I did not make - did computer take over?

 Hello,

I was playing a game online with someone, which I won (not gloating - relevance of this I'll explain).  I was waiting for the opponent to take a move with 2mins on their clock and nothing happened. The game ended as me winning and I got the points. I don't know why the opponent didn't move for 2 mins, I'm sure they could have done something about it (unless they lost internet connection).

Anyway, looking at the analysis - there were 3 more moves that myself and the opponent made, but I did not see these taking place during the game. I certainly did not make those moves myself. They were pretty good moves too, so it looked like a computer was finishing the game for me.

Very weird. Is there some setting that does this? Any information appreciated.

 Thankyou.

In analysis, these extra moves are in parentheses below the moves actually played in the game. The moves are described with "The game may have continued ... " and gives the best engine moves for both sides to just give you a glimpse of what might have happened.

When looking at the analysis the engine offers a way the game could have continued, unless the game ended in checkmate obviously. So it offers a couple of moves of the best continuation if the game didn't end there.

Ive had the same thing happen in multiple games only difference is I lost with as much 5 minutes remaining and up on my opponent.

I would hate to think someone can hack the system.

The same thing happened to me.  The clock was ticking down and the opponent had not moved, the after long delay, the board indicated that I made moves that I did not make!

Has someone hacked the system?

If you have premoves turned on it's possible you made accidental premoves.
