Well played sir,
Doc, my guess as to what happened looking at your game history, since you only have 24 standard live chess games on file, and you were gone for a long time, you played one game and your rating jumped from 1300 to 1500 since chess.com factors in absences and total # of games into their rating calculations(the idea being if you haven't played online in a while, there's a decent chance your true rating is different from what chess.com has, so they make your rating change very quickly(sometimes over 100 points for one game against something with the same rating as you). If you play often enough, you'll only get +8 for beating someone of the same rating as you.
Howdy,
I returned to play live chess today after a relatively long absence. I noticed that my rating was in the 1500s, which is considerably higher than it has ever been. My "highest" rating according to the statistics on my player page was 1457 - lower than my supposed current rating. All of the games on my profile were my own (nobody else has access to my account).

After playing one additional game, my rating has not corrected itself. Rather, it has gone even higher.
Anybody know what's up?
