My son wants to play

My son really wants to open a file for himself on Chess.com but I am not able to open a second account from the same email address !

Am I doing something wrong or is it really not possible ?

I think it would be best to let Chess.com know first because of them thinking your using multiple accounts. Wait for a reply and if you can do it well create a new email address and sign up :D

If you did this you would probably  get banned because Websites can Log your IP address where I think they find out what computer you use and your country and exact location.
