New game crashes Safari tab

Chess.com team, this has been happening 100% of games on Safari from iPhone with iOS 26-2-1 : load a new game (bot or person), the tab crashes (it flashes a 1 sentence error code too quickly to get a screen capture), the page reloads, I’m seconds away from being “abandoned”, and then the page finally allows me to move (about 20seconds into a game). If I play a bot I can only play as white otherwise it just keeps crashing out when I hit play and if I try again it crashes again until I get “error reloading page”

I’ve emptied my cache. Restarted phone. Closed all Safari tabs and reopened. Logged out and back in… it makes the experience unplayable, especially when I’m already a slow player to begin with.

I submitted a bug report. Thanks. I was also able to grab a screen capture of the error message that pops up if anyone else gets the same crash at start of every game. Happens for every analysis too.

Are you still seeing this? If so, 26.3 is available, can you update?

Yes, still occurring. I looked for update, might have to wait until it’s pushed out to public. I’ll keep looking and report back. Note: no issues playing on desktop.

On your settings do you have Natural or Arcade animations enabled?

This is happening for me too, it’s so frustrating! Basically makes bullet unplayable

Update: is now available for download (request has been put in) should see if update improves anything.

note: lately the crash happens on the 2nd or 3rd move not upon starting a game. Arguably worse as if the crash is lengthy it abandons the game (hasn’t happened yet but the abandon counter does start)

Apple IOS updated and sadly the issue still persists. Every game, review, self analysis, and BOT games crash either immediately upon loading or a few moves/seconds into the game.

Update: even just now on the forum page the safari tab crashed. This is the first time that has happened outside of crashes related to the game board/game play.
