The site you joined was Facebook therefore the password is saved on their site not Chess.com
We can update it for you, but you may need to change it on facebook

The real problem is that I just got a new cell phone (Droid Razr) and I had downloaded the chess.com app--this was the whole point of joining the site in the first place. But when I go to the app on my phone, it shows that I am logged into Facebook but it still wants a user name and password for the site. When I try to do this it says: "You must set up a password at chess.com" I don't necessarily want the same password on both Facebook and chess.com, but if I have to I will I guess. But even my Facebook password isn't working on the ap!
Ok guys I am IN now! I just successfully created my chess.com password AND I am connected with Facebook. I was able to access the app on my phone. So I'm all set, thank you.
How did you get this to work? I have the exact same problem.

Thanks jac1yn but it's still not letting me create a password. The verification after making the password fails. It finally went throug. Must not like androids with slow connections. Thanks for the help....
asking me to set password on chess.com tried using password from facebook but wont accept it tried new account but says my user name used

@walton232- Please send me (In a message not in the forums) an email address that you'd like to be added to your account and I can send you a password reset :)
Sorry for the delay, I didn't know I had new messages until now. I'm not sure why the app started working, unless one of the devs did it. But yeah, all I have to do is sign in with Facebook now.
I am having same issue at moment it works on my iPhone but trying to set it up on my new kindle fire

@finnagen38- What seems to be the problem? Are you having password related troubles?
I just joined the site and signed in with my Facebook ID. I created a user name for the site, and I want to set a new password... but every time I try it tells me that it's invalid!
I have tried many different variations, including upper case and lowercase, adding numbers, etc., and it still won't accept my new password. Furthermore, it won't even tell me what the rules are for creating a password! I have gone through the search engines and cannot find an answer to my question. I feel very frustrated.
