"New Unread Posts" a longer version of "Most Recent Posts"?

I really like the "Most Recent Posts" section on the lower-right hand side of the main forums page, but wished it were longer. However, if I click the "New Unread Posts" link under the "View All..." section, isn't that what I am looking for (e.g. a longer "Most Recent Posts")? Thanks!

most recent posts may be read or unread-just recent. new unread posts are all new unread posts. a subtle difference,but a difference nonetheless. my favorite is unanswered posts,as i feel everyone deserves an answer if i can answer it. i love options, don't you?
