Yes, gifts do not give the achievement. You have to pay for your membership through the account to get it

Then that means you're still on the trial. You'll get the achievement once the trial converts into a paid membership.

If you don't have a gift or are on a trial, you should contact support using the option in the menu and they can unlock it.
